Ukraine’s manager, Serhiy Rebrov, has selected a 26-man squad to compete in Euro 2024 in Germany this summer. Ukraine navigated the playoffs successfully to secure their third consecutive European Championship appearance. Now, they will face Belgium, Slovakia, and Romania in Group E, aiming to build on their Euro 2020 quarterfinal finish and reach the knockout stage again.
Notably, versatile star Oleksandr Zinchenko, who plays for Arsenal, is one of four Ukrainian players currently competing in the English Premier League. Moreover, Vitaliy Mykolenko, despite suffering an ankle injury that kept him out of the final four Premier League games, has been named in the lineup. Additionally, Ilya Zabarnyi, who had a stellar season with Bournemouth, will make his second appearance in the European Championship finals. He played in 37 out of 38 Premier League games, contributing significantly to Bournemouth’s highest-ever point total.
Furthermore, Andriy Lunin, the Real Madrid goalkeeper who recently won the Champions League, will likely start in goal for Ukraine. The 2023/24 UCL winner played a crucial role in both knockout games against Bosnia-Herzegovina and Iceland, setting the stage for Ukraine’s Euro 2024 campaign.
