Twitch introduces eSports Directory

Twitch is a video live streaming service operated by Twitch Interactive, a subsidiary of Amazon primarily focuses on video game live streaming, including broadcasts of eSports competitions, in addition to music broadcasts, creative content, and more recently, “in real life” streams.
Twitch offers a wide collection of content for viewers. The platform has made some changes that should make it easier for people to find specifically what they want to watch. The company has launched a new eSports directory dedicated to eSports competitions and content that will develop over the course of the next few days. Previously, it was difficult for a viewer to surf through the website looking for something to watch. Although it was possible to filter by category and quickly see which channels you are following, it was not always clear to pick out which channels were broadcasting content relevant to esports.

By introducing this eSports directory, Twitch simplifies game broadcasts for casual eSports fans. The directory will include top-level tournaments such as ESL Katowice and the World Championship League of Legends as well as events organized by Twitch’s community-driven platform, Twitch Rivals. Meanwhile, when you go to the directory the first thing you see is two rows of subcategories loaded with titles. Below that, the home page of the directory has a few live matches which are highlighted.
According to dotesports.com, this move comes after Activision Blizzard moved all of its eSports competitions to YouTube earlier this year as streaming platforms fight to gain exclusive streaming rights deals with top influencers and esports leagues.
