“It’s Over”- Liverpool fans furious, label star player ‘Henderson 2.0’ after 0-1 loss

Liverpool fans expressed frustration with Curtis Jones following his disappointing display in their 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace at Anfield on Sunday, April 14. This marked the Reds’ second consecutive home defeat across all competitions, following their 3-0 loss to Atalanta in the UEFA Europa League.

The match saw Eberechi Eze give the Eagles the lead in the 14th minute with a clinical finish from close range after a well-crafted build-up. Although Palace came close to doubling their advantage in the 18th minute, Andy Robertson’s goal-line clearance denied them.

Despite Liverpool’s numerous opportunities to level the score, their wastefulness was evident as Wataru Endo’s shot struck the crossbar in the first half. Their most promising chance arrived in the 75th minute when they launched a swift counter-attack. However, Jones squandered the opportunity, firing wide of the right post despite being one-on-one with Dean Henderson.

Jones endured a subpar performance during his 82 minutes on the pitch, garnering a match rating of just 5 (via This is Anfield). He missed a significant chance, lost possession five times, and struggled in midfield duels, losing 10.

Here are some of the reactions on social media platform (X):

This season, Jones has contributed five goals and three assists in 32 appearances across various competitions.
