AC Milan’s chances of winning the Serie A title this season was given a massive boost, thanks to a 2-0 win over Torino and Inter Milan’s 2-2 draw with AS Roma in the 17th week of the 2020/2021 Italian Serie A season.

The two Milan sides who currently occupy the top two spots in the League lost their respective matches last week with AC Milan suffering their first defeat of the season at the hands of Juventus while Inter Milan were defeated by Sampdoria away from home.

But it was AC Milan who was able to put that behind as they secured a win to extend their lead at the top of the table to three points ahead of Inter Milan and seven ahead of 4th placed Juventus who has a game in hand.

Rafael Leao gave Stefan Pioli’s side the lead in the 25th minute before Franck Kessie converted from the penalty spot in the 36th minute to give AC Milan the needed three points.

Inter Milan, on the other hand, scored twice through Milan Skriniar in the 56th minute and Achraf Hakimi in the 63rd minute to cancel Roma’s early lead in the 17th minute, but Gianluca Mancini denied them a win thanks to a late equalizer for AS Roma in the 86th minute of the game.
