Liverpool will face Chelsea in New year at the Stamford Bridge in what is expected to be a crucial encounter that will help shape the title race.
Just 3 points separate both sides as they battle it out with Manchester City for the title this season and Liverpool would want to have all players available to emerge victorious.
Unfortunately that won’t happen with the African Cup of Nations set to commence on 9th January through to February.
Talisman Salah and Mane are all set to depart for the tournament alongside midfielder Naby Keita.
Until today it was certain that Salah will depart before the game against Chelsea which is scheduled for January 2 but reports emerging this evening indicates that that will change.
According to an Egyptian journalist, Mohammmed Salah will be granted permission by the Egyptian FA to feature in the game against Chelsea before travelling to join up with the Egypt squad.
The tweet read:
Egypt have agreed to let Mohamed Salah remain with the club until after the Chelsea game before joining up with his national team for the Africa Cup of Nations.
