PL Preview: A look at the mid- week fixtures in the Premier League.
Manchester City vs Wolves
Manchester City already look champions elect for the current season, but Wolverhampton Wanderers will be hoping to be the wolf that can hunt the pack leader down.
Pep Guardiola’s side sit comfortably on top of the Premier League, with 12 points separating them and second placed side, Manchester United. Their win over West Ham over the weekend made it 20 consecutive wins in all competitions for the Cityzens and they will be hoping to extend that today.
Nuno’s side, however, have the motivation of not experiencing the fate of other clubs in City’s incredibly long run by avoiding a defeat in tonight’s fixture.
Wolves have not lost a game in their last five fixtures, having drawn twice and won thrice and could cause problems for Pep’s side.

Chelsea vs Liverpool
While there appears to be no competition for Manchester City, the battle for Champions League places is heating up. Chelsea and Liverpool who lie outside the top four, currently, will lock horns at Anfield on Thursday night with the hope of strengthening their claim for a place in the top four.
Thomas Tuchel’s side drew 0-0 with Manchester United on Sunday and will seek to make amends when they play at Anfield, while Liverpool won their first game after several consecutive defeats in the Premier League.
The first game of the season between the two sides ended in a 0-2 win for Jurgen Klopp’s side at Stamford Bridge and Chelsea will be hoping to exact their revenge especially with the arrival of Tuchel.
Chelsea’s new boss has began brightly at the Bridge having conceded just two goals in his opening 9 games in charge and his familiarity of his German compatriot, could be a great weapon for the West Londoners.
