18 persons test positive in latest Premier League Covid-19 test
The 18 recorded cases is the highest of the new season; Manchester City and Everton was postponed last night
The Premier League has today, 29th December 2020, confirmed that 18 persons have tested positive for Covid-19 in its 17th test for the 2020/2021 season.
The latest results is the highest of the current season and surpasses the 16 positive cases which were recorded in the 11th testing round.
The 17th test for the season was conducted between 21st and 27th December 2020 and the positive results include the two recorded in the Manchester City camp, which lead to the postponement of last night’s game.
Manchester City were due to face Everton on Monday night but the game was postponed after it emerged that two persons from Manchester City had tested positive for the virus.
The Premier League has indicated that a total of 1,479 players and club staff members were tested between December 21-27 and the 18 people who have tested positive are self-isolating.
It has also indicated that, “No specific details as to clubs or individuals will be provided by the League and results will be made public after each round of testing.”
