Providing an update on the Brazilian in his pre match presser, Klopp said: “Bobby now trained before the last game [for] two days. We don’t train a lot so he always has to do more, that is what he is still doing.

“So, [a] decision for tomorrow. He gets closer and closer and closer. Hopefully he can be involved.”

Jurgen Klopp will have one eye on this coming weekend’s FA Cup final, and the Liverpool manager should make a few alterations to his side.

Liverpool’s defensive unit could see wholesale changes, leaving Virgil van Dijk as the only player keeping his spot. Joel Matip will pair up with van Dijk at the heart of the Liverpool defence, with Joe Gomez and Kostas Tsimikas coming in as the full-backs in place of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson. Alisson Becker will be stationed between the sticks for Liverpool.

Moving into the middle of the park, Klopp could make a solitary change by dropping Jordan Henderson to the bench to preserve energy for the FA Cup final. Naby Keita should replace the Liverpool captain in the Liverpool midfield, with Fabinho and Thiago Alcantara completing the midfield unit.

As for the attacking personnel, Luis Diaz is certain to start for Liverpool after his stunning display against Spurs on Saturday night. The January signing should start in place of Diogo Jota, who has been a bit underwhelming in recent matches.

Firmino’s return adds more options at Klopp’s disposal. However, the Liverpool boss is unlikely to rush the Brazilian into action and might start him from the bench. As a result, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah should continue in the frontline when they visit the Villa Park.

Probable Lineup (4-3-3): Alisson; Gomez, Matip, van Dijk, Tsimikas; Keita, Fabinho, Thiago; Salah, Jota, Diaz
