NBA DAY 2 Report: Triple double for Beastbrook on debut

After witnessing some scintillating performances in the opening night of the 2020/2021 NBA season, which saw both Clippers and Nets picking up their first wins, day two followed suit with intriguing games and results.

There were slim wins for Boston Celtics who emerged victorious against the Bucks (122-121), while there were emphatic ones like Utah Jazz’s 120-100 against the Trail Blazers.

The beast in the capital

Russell Westbrook has now found a new home in the east this season after switching camps from Houston Rockets to join Bradley Beal and the Washington Wizards.

Beastbrook seems to have settled well as he had a spectacular game last night, recording his first triple-double of the season.

His 15 assists allowed his teammates to move and play freely which would in the long run make them a formidable opponent in the league.

Unfortunately, his impressive display was not enough to defeat Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia Sixers who run out winners by just 6 points. With a final score of 107 – 113, Sixers won at the Wells Fargo Center to record their first home win of the season.

It was an incredible display by the Sixers who showed no weakness as they pushed through the defence of the opposition and came out with an outstanding victory, with Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid key to that.

CP3 may made the right call after all

The Phoenix Suns in day two of the NBA season came up with a strong performance to defeat one of the best teams in the league: The Mavericks of Dallas. Even with an incredible performance from star player, Luka Doncic, who scored a game high 32 points, the Phoenix Suns remained calm to record their first win at Phoenix Suns Arena.

The win was certainly a good welcome for 10 times All Star player, Chris Paul (CP3), following his departure from the Oklahoma City Thunders to Phoenix Sun ahead of the new NBA season.

With an excellent performance from the Suns in the opening game and the addition of CP3, it remains to be seen whether they can challenge the reigning King in the West, Lebron James, and the Los Angeles Lakers.

But after just a game, it appears CP3 made the right call after all.

Jholla the Truth and the Bucks send a message

For Milwaukee guard, Jrue Holiday, the season seems to have started on a very good note. Although the Bucks lost 121 – 122 to the Boston Celtics at the TD Garden, the Bucks were able to put in one of their best performances, as they lost by one point.

Losing this game however, did not send a message of weakness, make no mistake. They look strong. They were undone by a Jason Tatum last second 3 pointer which took the lead for the Celtics, causing the reigning regular season MVP, Giannis Antetokounmpo, to desperately win a defensive foul.

While Tatum and Brown celebrate their combined 63 points effort and win over the Bucks, Giannis and Holiday will try to correct their wrongs when they meet again. It definitely was a good game among two great teams.
