Liverpool’s transfer targets for 2022


Many people believe that Liverpool are the biggest threat to Pep Guardiola and Manchester City‘s status as English champions this season, with Jurgen Klopp‘s Reds having pipped them to the title in 2019/20.

Unlike their title rivals City and Chelsea, though, Liverpool have been a lot less active in recent transfer windows, but could look to the market this winter to strengthen their squad for the title run-in, with a possible Champions League run also needing to be managed.


Jonathan David – Forward – Lille

Familiar to Spanish football fans, Lille’s Canadian forward has also been linked with Real Madrid, and MARCA have already reported that Carlo Ancelotti is an admirer of his.

As well as Los Blancos and Liverpool, though, Arsenal, West Ham and Newcastle United have also been linked with the player.

L’Equipe, thouhg, have said that he’ll likely set any club back close to 50 million euros as his contract runs until 2025.


Denis Zakaria – Midfielder – Borussia Monchengladbach

One of the players most linked with a move this winter is Monchengladbach’s Denis Zakaria, and Liverpool are one of the many clubs linked.

They’ll likely face domestic competition for his services though from another Northern English club, with newly-rich Newcastle United also keen to sign the midfielder.


Sky Sports have reported that Newcastle are desperate to land the played to aid their battle against relegation.

Jude Bellingham – Midfielder – Borussia Dortmund

The England international has impressed during his time in the Bundesliga, helping Borussia Dortmund to second place behind Bayern Munich.

?Bellingham already shows signs of being a leader in his team, and with both James Milner and Jordan Henderson getting towards the end of their respective careers, Liverpool are on the lookout for another body in midfield.

Being English, he would help with some registration requirements as well.

Julian Alvarez – Forward – River Plate

Another name familiar to Spanish football fans is Julian Alvarez’s as the Argentine has been liked with a move to just about every top European side including Atletico Madrid.
