Liverpool ready to offer Barcelona midfielder 50 times his current salary

Barcelona’s battle against time to seal departures is now beginning to get worrisome. Ferran Torres’ pending registration is on hold because of the lack of space on the wage bill. Needless to say, clearances of players who do not enter Xavi’s plans is now of utmost priority.

Earlier today, Barcelona confirmed the departure of Phillipe Coutinho on loan to Aston Villa. However, that is only the first of many required exits. And whilst Barcelona try to clear out the deadwood, some of the critical pillars of the team are under direct threat of leaving.

According to El Nacional, Gavi is one such player. Since his debut for Barcelona this season, the La Masia graduate has become untouchable in Barcelona’s midfield. Moreover, he has also proven his worth for the Spanish National Team at just 17 years of age.

His impressive displays have caught interest across Europe, and one such side is Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp is said to be interested in signing the teenager from Barcelona.

Gavi’s relatively low release clause at €50 million makes it easier for Liverpool to swoop him from Xavi’s side. Moreover, the Merseyside team is willing to multiply his salary by 50 times, an offer that certainly looks irresistible.

The midfielder reportedly sees his future at Catalonia, where he has proven his worth time and time again. However, the lack of space on the wage bill has placed his renewal talks on hold.

As it stands, Gavi still patiently awaits a renewal proposal from Barcelona. And while his heart lies in Catalonia, a delay from the club’s side could see them lose one of their most promising stars.
