Liverpool could win Premier League title on April 9 after Man City defeat
Following a victory over Norwich City on Saturday afternoon, Liverpool were hoping for a favor by Tottenham Hotspurs to close down the gap on Manchester City.
The points difference between both teams before the start of the day was 9 with Liverpool having a game in hand.
Liverpool were able to secure all three points with a 3-1 win over Norwich City but Manchester City were unable to replicate that result as they lost to Tottenham Hotspurs at home.
City’s summer transfer target, Harry Kane was at the center as he scored twice in a 3-2 thrilling game at the Etihad.
The results means that only 6 points separate Liverpool and Manchester City with Klopp’s men have a game in hand.
A win in that outstanding game against Leeds United on Wednesday will see them go just three points behind Manchester City and put the pressure on the defending champions.
The title could then be decided on April 9 when Liverpool travel to the Etihad to play Guardiola’s side.
A win then could see them level on points and potentially reclaim their title by the end of the season.
