Klopp wants Liverpool to sign 21 year old who tormented Trent Alexander Arnold
Liverpool are interested in snapping up Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior as Jurgen Klopp sees him as the perfect successor to Sadio Mane.
LIVERPOOL KEEN ON VINICIUS DEAL
Real Madrid website Defensa Central claim an exclusive regarding Liverpool’s interest in Vinicius.
They claim that Klopp wants Vinicius because his physicality, pace, goal threat and work rate remind him of Mane.
Mane is out of contract in 2023 and could be leaving Liverpool for nothing at the end of next season.
With Mane turning 30 in April, Liverpool may be reluctant to give a big new deal to the Senegalese wide man.
21-year-old Vinicius is viewed as the ideal replacement, but Real Madrid want to pair him with Kylian Mbappe for years to come.
Real don’t intend to sell Vinicius, with the Brazilian in fine form this season having hit 10 goals in 17 La Liga games.
REAL MADRID STAR VINICIUS TORMENTED ALEXANDER-ARNOLD
Liverpool may well fancy Vinicius having seen him torment Trent Alexander-Arnold last year.
Real Madrid beat Liverpool 3-1 in Spain with Vinicius scoring twice.
The first goal came with Vinicius making a run between Alexander-Arnold and Nat Phillips before firing home.
The second came as Vinicius peeled off a sleeping Alexander-Arnold to strike an effort past Alisson.
Vinicius has developed greatly as a player since then too, so Liverpool’s interest is no great surprise.
Whether they can actually do a deal remains to be seen.
