Manchester City has confirmed in a club statement that Eric Garcia and one member of staff have tested positive for Covid-19 ahead of Sunday’s clash with Chelsea.
In a statement on Sunday, the club confirmed the defender, alongside one other member of staff tested positive in the latest tests carried out.
“Manchester City FC can confirm that Eric Garcia and one member of staff have tested positive for COVID-19,”
“Both personnel will now observe a period of self-isolation in accordance with Premier League and UK Government protocol on quarantine,”
The defender will now miss Sunday evening’s Premier League clash against Chelsea. He becomes the latest Man City player to test positive in recent weeks, with Kyle Walker and Gabriel Jesus among those who will miss the clash against Chelsea.
