Everton vs Man City game postponed due to an increase in COVID-19 cases
The Premier league clash between Everton and Manchester City has been postponed due to an increase in the number of coronavirus positive cases.
Everton were set to host City at the Goodison Park tonight in the matchday 16 of the Premier League. However, due to a number of positive cases being recorded, the clash has been postponed.
“Manchester City FC can confirm that this evening’s Premier League fixture at Everton has been postponed,” a statement from City read.
“After the latest round of Covid-19 testing, the club returned a number of positive cases, in addition to the four already reported on Christmas Day.”
Everton also released a statement, indicating :
Following a Premier League Board Meeting this afternoon, Everton Football Club has been informed that tonight’s fixture against Manchester City has been postponed on medical grounds due to an increase in confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Manchester City squad.”
The date and kick-off time for the game is yet to be communicated.
