Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, has indicated that Borussia Dortmund star, Jadon Sancho, was ‘ready’ for a move to Manchester United and had agreed personal terms with the club in the summer, but is unlikely to join them this January.
Manchester united made Sancho their transfer priority in the summer but could not meet the valuation of Borussia Dortmund. The Yellow and blacks were demanding a whopping €120 million but Manchester United could only offer €95m, which was rejected by the Dortmund hierarchy on several occasions.
Although the clubs were miles away from striking a deal, Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the player was ready to move to Old Trafford and had already agreed personal terms with Manchester United.
Borussia Dortmund CEO Watzke just confirmed that Jadon Sancho was ‘ready for the transfer’ to Manchester United this summer. Personal terms were agreed.AdvertisementAdvertisement
To be clear: Jadon is *not* moving in January. The race will be on again next summer and Manchester United are expected to be involved.
The CEO of Borussia Dortmund, Hans-Joachim Watzke, in a exclusive interview with Kicker also asserted that Sancho’s dip in form could be linked to the summer transfer saga.
The player was not at his best during the early stages of this season and went without a Bundesliga goal until he finally ended his goal drought of 1,298 minutes in a 2-0 win against Wolfsburg.
Hans-Joachim Watzke said:
It was signalled that the fee offer would be paid in instalments over several years,” Watzke said. It was all a theoretic discussion from then on.
Maybe Jadon had subconsciously prepared for a move a bit. I believe he at least thought about it that much that he lost a bit of his ease, but for weeks now I found him trying very hard.
I think he needs two, three goals and this could boost his form straight away. He still is one of the greatest talents there is.
