How Chelsea could line up to face Manchester United today

Chelsea will seek to consolidate their position on top of the league table when they play Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.

The Blues have secured an impressive 7-0 aggregate in consecutive games after the international break n the league and in Europe.

Thomas Tuchel will hope that the run would continue today against a club who could soon be managed by his mentor.

The Red Devils are set to appoint Ralph Rangnick who helped Tuchel become a football coach as their interim coach till the end of the season but will not be available today.

Michael Carrick who was in charge in the club’s game in midweek will instead be in the dugout to ensure they secure a good result.

Defence

Edouard Mendy will more likely be in the post for Chelsea and serve as the last wall in case the defence is breach.

The Senegalese has been in fine form and is undoubtedly one of the first names on team sheet.

Thiago Silva who put up an incredible display in midweek against Juventus is set to continue in the middle of the back three, while the ever present will be on the left side of the defence.

Despite starting and impressing in the last two games, Trevoh Chalobah is expected to make way for Andreas Christensen for the game.

Midfield

The absence of Kante who picked up an injury against Juventus means that Ruben Loftus Cheek will pair Jorginho in central midfield.

Reece James who has been in superb form will continue to play as the right back while Marcos Alonso is expected to replace the injured Chilwell.

Attack

Callum Hudson Odoi has temporary sealed his place in the attack of the team and could be rewarded with his 8th consecutive game of the season against Man United.

Hakim Ziyech who appears to be discovering his form could play on the right hand side of the attack with Timo Werner playing as the striker in a 3-4-3 formation.
