Accra Hearts of Oak on saturday afternoon put on a stellar performance, as they thrashed league leaders Bechem United by 6-1 at the Accra sports stadium.
The Phobians in the process ended the unbeaten run of Bechem United after seven games, and now move into second place with 11 points, having played a game more.

The Phobians took advantage of that as Abdul Manaf gave Hearts of Oak the lead in the 52nd minute before Victor Aidoo’s brilliant dummy and deft finish made it two for Hearts in the 68th minute.
With a little over 22 minutes to go, the Phobians turned on the heat on the league leaders as Victor Aidoo netted his second and the club’s third in the 73rd minute.
Ansah Botchway netted from the penalty spot a few minutes later before Prince pulled one back for Bechem United. But Lawali Mamane and Benjamin Afutu scored in quick succession in the 88th and 90th minute respectively to seal an important victory for Costa Papic’s side.
