James Jarden dominated the headlines on Wednesday night as Brooklyn Nets’ winning streak continued in the new NBA season.

After faltering in a couple of games with their new star studded trio, the Nets have now won their past three games, beginning with back to back victories over Miami Heat (128-124 and 98-85) and another victory over Hawks 128-132.

It is in the latest victory over the Hawks that Harden, who joined from Houston Rockets, showed his prowess as he became the first player since Stephon Marbury to score 30 points and make 15 assists in a game.

Marbury’s record stood for 21 years and has now been equaled by James Harden. But while Harden takes center stage, the Nets also have Kevin Durant to thank for his 32 points and Irving for his 26 points in the game.

Brooklyn Nets have now moved into fourth place behind 76ers, Bucks and Pacers with 12 wins and 8 defeats and a winning steak of three.

Chris Paul unhappy with Suns’ inconsistency

While the Nets enjoyed their third successive win, the Suns enjoyed less as they were defeated for the third consecutive time.

It is a streak that displeases Monty Williams and the player was clearly frustrated when speaking to the media after the game, urging the team to strive for some consistency.ย

“Until this team understands consistency for four quarters, we’re going to feel like this a lot,” Williams said. “We can try to get everybody to feel sorry for us. It ain’t going to work. We’ve got to be consistent. This is on us.

“Down the stretch, we had an unbelievably poor finish,” he said. “We have open shots, missing shots under the basket. It’s just poor. Poor execution and poor finishing. That’s it.

“At some point, you just have to finish out games and understand what it takes to be a really good team is consistency,” Williams said. “Period. That’s the deal.”
