James Harden was on fire for the Houston Rockets, but it was not enough as they lost their first game of the season to the Portland Trail Blazers this morning.

The Rockets were not on duty in the first day of the NBA season after it emerged that several of their players were unavailable for the game having tested positive for Covid-19.

Harden himself has also been in the press lately after he reportedly asked to be traded before being fined $ 50k by the NBA for breaking Covid -19 safety protocols.

But the player put it behind him to put in a superb performance for the Houston Rockets. Harden’s 44 points was the highest among his teammates, with only Christian Wood coming close with 33 points. However, CJ McCollum equalled Harden’s total number of points for the Portland Trail Blazers.

In addition to the 44 points, Harden also recorded 4 rebounds and 17 assists in their loss but it was not sufficient to defeat the Blazers.
