Gladson Awako opened the scoring for the hosts in the 44th minute with a brilliant free-kick before Maxwell Quaye converted from the spot-kick in the 52nd minute to give Great Olympics a 2-0 lead.

Samuel Quaye then wrapped up the victory as he scored in the 83rd minute to secure a valuable three points for Great Olympics and bring an end to a disappointing night for Legon Cities.

Legon Cities have failed to win a game in their first two opening games despite investing heavily in the transfer market with the likes of Asamoah Gyan and Matthew Cudjoe joining the club.
