Ghana Women’s League Week 3: Wins for Berry Ladies and Strikers but Sea Lions continue to struggle

Berry Ladies, Ladies Strikers, Hasaacas Ladies and Soccer Intellectuals all secured wins in the 3rd week of the 2020/21 Ghana Women’s League season as the race for the title intensifies.

Berry Ladies who currently sit top of the table made it three wins out of three games against Sea Lions.

Sea Lions broke the deadlock after 5 minutes after Alice Sarpong’s effort found the back of the net.  But Felicity Asante levelled for Berry Ladies before Anastasia Achia’s late own goal gave the host the needed win.

Berry Ladies’ Nina Norshie superb’s contribution for the home side earned her the Player of the Match award.

After a disappointing 4-5 thriller on Match Week 2, Thunder Queens were eager to get their first victory when they travelled to Sekondi Gyandu Park but that expectation was left unfulfilled as Patience Prah’s 65th minute own goal gifted the visitors the crucial victory.

Janet Gyan’s impressive display for the ‘dooo’ Ladies earned her the Nasco Player of the Match award.

At the McDan La Town Park in Accra, Oswald Franklin Sam’s Police Ladies suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Soccer Intellectuals.

Coach Ali Yakubu’s ladies were a delight to watch as Adina Akpo’s 11th minute effort helped Intellectuals to snatch all three points.

Mary Essiful was crowned the Nasco Player of the Match after her wonderful contribution for the Intellectuals.

Lady Strikers continue their smooth run in this season’s Ghana Women’s league season with another victory as Gift Addai Boakye’s 30th minutes strike was enough for the home team.
