NBA MVP Ladder: Joel Embiid storms into top 3 upon return as James Harden drops

Philadelphia 76ers star, Joel Embiid, wasted no time in announcing his presence back from injury and into the race for the MVP award, following two impressive performances that has seen him reclaim a top 5 spot on the NBA KIA MVP ladder.

Embiid was the favorite for this year’s award prior to his injury a few weeks ago, but dropped as far as seventh place on the ladder after missing several games for the Sixers.

The likes of Giannis, James Harden and Lillard took advantage of the player’s unfortunate situation and dislodged him from the top spot, but he has now returned at the right time.

The center dropped 24 points in his return against the Minnesota Timberwolves last Sunday before following it up with 34 points against the Boston Celtics on Tuesday.

His impressive performances now moves him up to third on the ladder, four places from where he was last week.

While Embiid takes a spot in the top 5, Giannis and James Harden have have failed to improve their position on the ladder after the pair missed a couple of games as a result of injuries.

Giannis who has missed his third-straight game due to left knee soreness maintains his spot from last week while James Harden drops from 4th to 5th as he nurses a hamstring injury.

LeBron James who is still nursing an injury is currently in 8th place while Brooklyn Nets’ Kyrie Irving continues to push for a top 5 spot as he is currently tied on sixth position with Luka Doncic.
