DUX Internacional Madrid signs former Real Madrid player using Bitcoin
Spanish third division outfit DUX Internacional Madrid, also known as Inter Madrid, has signed former Real Madrid B striker David Barral using Bitcoins.
The 37 year-old becomes the first ever player to be purchased with cryptocurrency.
The veteran striker started his playing career with La Liga giants Real Madrid, where he managed more than 50 appearance for the club’s reserve before leaving to Sporting Gijon, Levante and Racing Santander.
Inter Madrid’s new sponsors, Criptan, played a huge role in bringing Barral to the club using only crypto-currency.
After signing David Barral, the club released a statement which read:
David Barral new player of DUX Internacional de Madrid, welcome to the infinite club!
He becomes the first signing in history in cryptocurrencies. Thanks to Criptan, our new sponsor, for making it possible.
