Kevin Durant will still be unavailable for the Brooklyn Nets when they return to action for the second round of the 2020/2021 NBA season.
The second round of the season got off to a flying start as Luka Doncic powered the Dallas Mavericks to a win over Suns.
The Brooklyn Nets are expected to match up with Boston Celtics for their second round opener but without Durant.
The player has been out since February with a strained left hamstring and even missed the 2021 NBA All-Star game.
Kevin Durant was voted as the captain for team Durant but was unable to feature due to injury with his side going on to lose to LeBron James and his Western Conference crew including Giannis Antetokounmpo who won the MVP of the game.
It still remains unclear when the player will be back and is expected to have another scan.
“I think when we got the second scan we knew this was going to be longer,” coach Steve Nash said on Wednesday.
“The first scan there was bleeding and the imaging wasn’t as clear. So I think we realized the second scan that this was type of timeline we were looking at and we’ll see, that could change. But we were expecting the potential for this to be a month or whatever it may be.”
New signing Blake Griffin will also be unavailable for Nets as he is expected as the Nets are being cautious with his integration into the team.
