NBA report: Durant hits 500 points mark in just 17 games for Nets
Kevin Durant is now tied for the second fastest player in NBA history to reach 500 points with a team following his impressive display in Nets’ victory over Los Angeles Clippers.
The player, before the current season, had been out for over a year after rupturing his Achilles in 2019, but has returned with all his glory and has shown how lethal of a scorer he is.
Before the game against Clippers, he was behind Bradley Beal (34) in terms of points per game with 30.9 and was just 5 points from reaching the milestone of 500 points for Brooklyn Nets.
Durant reached that easily by dropping 28 points against Clippers as Nets emerged 124-120 victors in a well contested matchup.
The only player to have scored 500 points in less games is Wilt Chamberlain with the Warriors in 1959-60 (14 games) according to ESPN Stats and Info.

In the other matchups, Stephen Curry’s 38 points were not enough for the Golden State Warriors as they suffered defeat at the hands of Boston Celtics 107-111 on Tuesday night, while the Trail Blazers edged out Wizards 132-121.
