Cristiano Ronaldo on Sir Alex Ferguson: “I owe so much to him
Former Manchester United player Cristiano Ronaldo has shared a special message as a means of paying tribute to his former manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, who turns 79 years today.
Well before going to Real Madrid to become one of the greatest players, the Portuguese captain fine-tuned his ability at Manchester United under the he guidance of Sir Alex Ferguson after joining from Sporting Lisbon as a teenager.
Ronaldo was part of the Manchester United team that beat Chelsea to the UEFA champions league trophy in 2008 while winning the the world’s best player before leaving for Real Madrid.
The player has now attributed his success to Sir Alex Ferguson as he turns 79 years today.
He’s an amazing manager. I owe so much to him. And he’s a fantastic person, a very human person. He’s like a father to me in football,” Ronaldo said.

Sir Alex Ferguson was appointed as the manager of Manchester United back in November 1986 and resigned in 19 May 2013 after winning several laurels for the club.
