Report: London Clubs Eyeing Napoli’s Star Striker

The transfer market is buzzing with rumors about Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian striker at Napoli. He hasn’t played in recent matches but is still training with the team, raising questions about a potential move. The big question now is: Where will Osimhen go?

PSG’s Interest

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has shown serious interest in Osimhen but has faced challenges with Napoli’s valuation. According to reports from Corriere dello Sport, PSG initially offered 90 million euros, including Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in a larger package valued at 110 million euros.

Napoli rejected this offer, deeming it insufficient. PSG, dealing with budgetary constraints and a crowded squad, has temporarily halted their pursuit of Osimhen. However, interest in the striker remains: “Osi is still interested despite the stalemate.”

Arsenal and Chelsea are also in the mix for Osimhen. Arsenal has revived their interest but is currently focusing on Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon. Corriere dello Sport reports, “Arsenal have recently returned to inquire about Osi’s situation, although at this stage they are very focused on chasing the Swede from Sporting Lisbon, Viktor.” Chelsea is another contender, though the club faces difficulties due to Osimhen’s high salary and their new wage cap policy.

The Lukaku Connection

Romelu Lukaku’s situation adds an intriguing dimension to the transfer saga. Lukaku, who is training separately under Belgian national team supervision, was not part of Chelsea’s U.S. tour. He is expected to return to London to resume training at Cobham.

Lukaku’s desire to reunite with former coach Antonio Conte, who could potentially move to Napoli, complicates matters further. Corriere dello Sport notes, “Rom, at the moment, is one of the most attentive fans of the transfer market, very interested in the super international round of center forwards.”

Napoli’s Stance

Under Aurelio De Laurentiis’s leadership, Napoli remains steadfast in their valuation of Osimhen. The club is unwilling to sell their star forward for less than the 130 million euro release clause. This firm stance highlights Napoli’s recognition of Osimhen’s value and their strategic patience in the transfer market.

For Arsenal and Chelsea, acquiring Victor Osimhen would be a significant boost. Arsenal, struggling with consistency in attack, could greatly benefit from Osimhen’s dynamic play and goal-scoring ability. Chelsea, despite financial hurdles, might see Osimhen as a key addition to their squad.

As the transfer window progresses, both London clubs will watch closely, hoping to secure one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe. The outcome of this transfer saga could have substantial implications for both teams as they aim to strengthen their squads and compete at the highest levels in the Premier League and beyond.
