Chelsea vs Juventus preview: Pulisic to fill shoes of two top players?

Chelsea need a win to boost their chances of topping the group ahead of Juventus

Chelsea vs Juventus

Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea return for Champions League action under evening lights as they take on Juventus in matchday 5 of the UCL season.

The reverse fixture was nothing good for the defending champions who lost courtesy an early second half goal scored by Chiesa at the Juventus Stadium.

Chelsea will not be eager to only correct that but also boost their chances of booking a place in the next round of the competition.

In this build-up to the game, we a take at the possible lineups.

Chelsea vs Juventus: Team news

For Chelsea, they will still be without record signing, Romelu Lukaku who has been out for a couple of weeks now.

The Belgian suffered an injury in his side 4-0 win in the last UCL round and has not been involved since last month.

He has returned to training with the rest of the group however but it is unlikely that he will start for the Blues tonight.

Despite suffering an injury on the same day as Lukaku, Timo Werner is likely to be involved in this stage after making it to the bench for the game against Leicester last weekend.

Mateo Kovacic still remains out while Kai Havertz could miss the game through injury.

Juventus have more injury concerns coming into the game and could hurt their chances of securing a great result at Stamford Bridge this evening.

Club captain Giorgio Chiellini will not be involved after suffering an abductor injury while attacking players such as Aaron Ramsey and Federico Bernadeschi will also miss out.

Full-backs Danilo and Mattia De Sciglio are the final names to be absent with injuries, the former recently being ruled out for eight months.

Chelsea vs Juventus: Likely lineup

Predicted line-ups

Juventus: Szczesny; Danilo, Bonucci, De Ligt, Sandro; Cuadrado, McKennie, Locatelli, Rabiot; Morata, Chiesa.
