Champions League quarter-finals and semis draw: What you need to know
The stage is now set! The round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League is now over and the competitive stages of the quarter-finals and the semi-finals set in.
Paris Saint Germain, Borussia Dortmund, Liverpool and FC Porto booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League last week and are now joined by Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Chelsea.
In here, we take a look at when the draw for the quarter-finals and semi-finals of the Champions League will be conducted and the date for the fixtures.
When and where is the draw?
The draw for the quarter-finals and the semis of this season’s Champions League takes place on Friday 19 March at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland.
It will be streamed live on UEFA.com from midday CET.
Quarter-finals
There are no seedings or country protection. Any restrictions will be announced ahead of the draw.
The following teams have qualified for the quarter-finals:
Borussia Dortmund (GER)
Liverpool (ENG)
Paris Saint-Germain (FRA)
Porto (POR)
Real Madrid (SPA)
Manchester City (ENG)
Chelsea (ENG)
Bayern Munich (GER)
Semi-finals
Following the conclusion of the quarter-final draw, another draw will be made to determine the two semi-final pairings.
Just like the quarter-finals, there are no seedings or country protection in the semi-final draw.
Final
For administrative reasons, a draw will be made to determine the ‘home’ side in the final.
Match dates
Quarter-finals
The first legs of the quarter-finals of this season’s Champions League will take place between 6th and 7th April, 2021, with the second legs following on the 13th and 14th of the same month.
Semi-finals
The first legs of the semi-finals is scheduled for 27/28 April and will be followed by the second legs on 4th and 5th May, 2021.
Final
The finals is slated for Saturday 29 May and will be played at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium, Istanbul in Turkey.
