Report: Barcelona reach pre-contract agreement to sign Georginio Wijnaldum
Latest reports from Spanish outlet, Todo Fichajes, claims Barcelona have taken a bold step in an attempt to secure the services of Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum.
The midfielder is reported to have signed a pre-contract agreement with the La Liga giants over a summer transfer.
The Dutch International joined the Reds in 2016 and has since been an integral member of the Jürgen Klopp’s team, playing a pivotal role in their recent success in England and Europe. He has made 212 appearances, scoring 21 goals and provided 16 assists.
The Dutchman’s future at Anfield has been a subject of speculation over the few weeks as his contract expires this summer.
A new deal for the 30 year-old midfielder has been tabled, but it is reported he has turned all offers down to secure a move to Barcelona.
The Blaugranas are great admirers of the midfielder ever since Koeman took over the Catalan club last summer.
The Spanish giant lost a coup of experience players in the shape of Ivan Rakitic and Arturo Vidal. The inclusion of the Georginio Wijnaldum to Miralem Pjanic, Sergio Busquets,Frenkie de Jong and Pedri would provide Koeman with more options and dynamics in his squad.
