Australian Open: Classy Naomi Osaka dominates Jennifer Brady to win second Australian Open title

Japanese sensation Naomi Osaka dominated Jennifer Brady in straight sets in the Australian Open final to win her fourth major title on Saturday.

Osaka, three-time champion Osaka edged a tight first set and broke the American twice in the second to win 6-4, 6-3 in 77 minutes in front of thousands of fans at Rod Laver Arena. The third-ranked Osaka, who represents Japan in the competition, will move to No. 2, behind the Australian Ashleigh Barty, who fell in the quarterfinals.

Osaka, ran her winning streak to 21 matches, becoming the first woman to win her first Grand Slam finals since Monica Seles did it in 1990 and 1991 on her way to nine total championships.

The 23-year-old, top-rated as the world’s top-earning female athlete joins the likes of Caroline Wozniacki (2018), Angelique Kerber (2016), and Li Na (2014) as having saved match points on their way to the Australian Open title, after doing so in her fourth-round win over Garbine Muguruza.
