Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhães tests positive for Covid

London based club Arsenal has confirmed that defender Gabriel Magalhães has tested positive for coronavirus.

The Brazilian international has been an integral member of Mikel Arteta’s team since joining the club in the summer from French side Lille and has already managed 15 appearances across all competitions.

A statement from Arsenal read:

Gabriel has tested positive for COVID-19 and is isolating according to UK Government and Premier League protocols.

We will continue to monitor and support Gabriel, and we are hoping he will be available again after our next two matches.

This means that the 23-year-old defender will miss Arsenal’s next two games against Brighton and Hove Albion and West Bromwich Albion.
