LeBron James closing in on all-time leading scorers on Christmas day; KD in top five

After racking up 22 points in Los Angeles Lakers’ latest win over Dallas, LeBron James has now moved up to second and is now in a strong position to overtake Kobe Bryant as the all-time leading scorer on Christmas day in the NBA,  while Kevin Durant now joins the top five.

James was in third position with 361 points from 15 games before this Christmas day, behind Oscar Roberson who had 371 points in just 12 games. But after securing 22 points, Lebron now moves to second and 12 points behind Kobe Bryant who has 393 points in 16 games.

His points in that game was only equalled or bettered by Montrezl Harrell’s 22 points and Anthony Davis’ 28 points, respectively, as Los Angeles Lakers found a way past Luka Doncic’s Dallas.

It was Lakers’ first win (138-115) of the season after falling at the hands of Clippers in the opening night of the season.

While LeBron James was moving up the chart, Kevin Durant who has been in superb form this season, also moved into the top 5 of the all-time leading scorers on Christmas day chart.

Kevin Durant’s 29 points against the Boston Celtics helped him overtake Shaquille O’Neal who had 272 points in 13 games.
