AFCON U20 draw takes place as teams prepare for Mauritania showdown

The draw for the Total U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, which is to be held in Mauritania, was conducted on Monday at the Hilton Hotel in Yaounde, Cameroon.

The draw was conducted by CAF Head of Competitions, Khaled Nasser and was assisted by CAF and Cameroon legend Emmanuel Maboang.

Host nation, Mauritania were drawn in Group A with Cameroon, Uganda and Mozambique whiles Burkina Faso, Tunisia, Namibia and Central African Republic were also drawn in Group B.

Three time winners of the competition Ghana were drawn in Group C alongside Tanzania, Gambia and Morocco.

The opening game of the tournament will be between Mauritania and Cameroon in Nouakchott on 14 February 2021, with the tournament itself taking place between 14 February 2021 and 4 March 2021.
