Chelsea had their destiny in their own hands going into the next round of the UEFA Champions league on Wednesday night.
Having thrashed Juventus 4-0 at Stamford Bridge last month, it was almost certain that the Blues will finish top of their group and consequently face a less tougher opposition in the round of 16.
That did not materialize as Thomas Tuchel’s side gave up a lead for the second game running and conceded for four consecutive games under Tuchel.
In fact since their win over Juventus the defending champions have not been themselves, conceding against Manchester United, Watford, West Ham and Zenith for a combined tally of 8 goals.
The consequences of this is that they have finished in second place behind Juventus and will now face a tougher opposition in the knockout phase of the competition.
In here we look at the 4 teams Chelsea could face in round 16 of the champions league.

The rules of the competitions states that clubs from the same country cannot be drawn for the round of 16, meaning Chelsea will not meet any of the the three English teams who topped their group.
Manchester City who topped Group A, Liverpool who topped Group B and Manchester United who topped Group F are all exempted from the list of teams who could face Chelsea but that does not rule out the fact that there are big teams awaiting.
Lat year’s semi finalist Real Madrid were winners of Group D and are potential match for the Blues so are Bayern Munich.
Chelsea however will fancy the two other oppositions in Ajax, winners or Group C and Lille or RB Salzburg, winners of Group G.
