2020/21 Ghana Premier League: Key stats from first round
The first round of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season was concluded yesterday, with the likes of Karela United securing wins to open up a substantial lead at the top of the table.
With the exception of Kumasi Asante Kotoko who has two games in hand due to their involvement in continental duties, mots clubs have fulfilled their 15 matchday obligations and do have a clear picture of what needs to be maintained and improved for a successful concluding part of the season.
Ahead of the second round of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League, which follows immediately, we take a look at the key stats which emerged from the first round including the scoring chart, assists and clean sheets.

Goalscoring chart
Karela United are enjoying a fine season in the Premier League and are not only top of the table, but do have their main man leading the goal king chart after 15 matches played.
Diawise Taylor has so far scored 10 goals from 15 games in the first round of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League and is followed by WAFA’s Lomotey with 8 goals and King Faisal’s Kwame Peprah with eight goals while Kotoko’s Kwame Poku has 7 goals.

Assists chart
No player in the first round of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League is yet to reach double figures in terms of assists.
WAFA’s Augustine Boakye has so far recorded eight assists and is leading the chart with the second player, Kwame Peprah, coming in four assists followed by Awako and Salifu with four each.

Clean sheets
Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s Razak Abalora leads the clean sheets chart following his six clean sheets for the Porcupine Warriors. The club has the best defensive record and thus comes as no surprise.
Karela FC’s Richard Baidoo also has six clean sheets while Joseph Addo also has 5 clean sheets. Below is the chart.

Most goals scored by clubs
Ashanti Gold are the most prolific goal scorers in the first round of the Premier League this season, having netted 25 times in 15 games with an average of 1.6 goals per game.
The Miners are followed by league leaders, Karela FC and Dreams FC with 22 goals while WAFA who have recorded some big wins at Sogakope are third on the chart with 20 goals.

Best defensive record
Kumasi Asante Kotoko boast the defensive record in the first round of the league with just six goals conceded in their first opening 13 games in the season.
It is by far the best in the league and are the only club to have conceded a single figure this season. They are only followed by Karela FC and Great Olympics who have conceded 13 goals each.
