Chelsea are often criticized for their use of the loan system with players remaining at the club for years without making an appearance.

And it leads to fans forgetting the players that have actually featured at Stamford Bridge over the years.

There are many still plying their trade that, at one time or another, wore the famous Chelsea kit.

We could have put together a similar story when it comes to Chelsea managers given Roman Abramovich’s tendency to pull the trigger.

But, for now, we have looked at 15 players that you may well have forgot ever featured for the Blues.

Fabio Borini

The Italian winger actually started his senior career at Chelsea, having been first choice striker for the reserves.

His Reds career wasn’t that successful either, and he has failed to hit double figures in a league campaign anywhere.

Ricardo Quaresma

A Euro 2016 winner with Portugal, Quaresma never really ignited during his 2009 loan spell at Stamford Bridge.

He was part of the Inter squad that won the Champions League, while also having a Serie A title to his name for the same season.

He headed to west London from Barcelona in 2011 and spent four years with the Blues, though made just 22 Premier League appearances.

That did include 16 in 2011-12, helping Chelsea to the FA Cup and Champions League, where he was an unused sub in the final, in that same season.

Papy Djilobodji

Two years with Chelsea saw the iconic Portuguese midfielder lift the Premier League title and back-to-back FA Cups.

He was a regular at Stamford Bridge having been Luiz Felipe Scolari’s first signing at the club.

Injuries didn’t help his cause at Stamford Bridge with Falcao scoring once in ten Premier League appearances.

He was also dropped from the Blues’ Champions League squad for the second half of the season and returned to Monaco at the end of the 2015-16 campaign.
